Pentax 60-250mm
Posted By: thorswolf, 01-13-2021, 05:26 AM

SMC Pentax-DA* 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM Reviews - DA Zoom Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

Definitely not my fave walking around lens; it's too heavy for that.
But this lens is like the Sword of Heroes in Kung Fu Panda: unbelievably sharp.
The attached pic is cropped down to only 27% of the original.
It was taken on an older K10D.
It was snapped in JPG mode (because I'm a dunce sometimes).
And it's still beautifully sharp.

Ho - try the 150-450mm. I have just taken ownership of it a week ago. But yes - compared to say the 55-300mm PLM, the 60-250mm is a heavy lens.

Sharp? Well - that pic certainly backs you up there!! It is truly amazing - one of the sharpest pics I have seen on the forums, and that is really saying something. Amazing image.

Fantastic image! I have the lens and agree 100% with you on its fantastic sharpness and resolution. The only downside is its less than stellar autofocus.

It's certainly very sharp. Cool shot! I'd love to get a good daytime shot of an owl.

Marvellous owl portrait, that's a keeper! Of course it would be so much better if shot on (insert brand/model here) but I'm sure I don't know how??
