K-5 with DA* 50-135mm ƒ/2.8 (optional grip)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
K-5 with DA* 50-135mm ƒ/2.8 (optional grip)

Asking Price
1100 USD

Item Location
Portland, Oregon (United States)

Item Description
The grip is optional.

I currently don't want to split the K-5 from the 50-135mm lens.

The 50-135 lens is SCREWDRIVE ONLY. The SDM mechanism does not function and is disabled. I consider this to be a positive selling point. All Pentax DA* 50-135mm lenses are designed to support screwdrive, and operate with screwdrive on older bodies. This lens is programmed to operate with screwdrive on newer bodies too. Operation is fast, quick, smooth, and reliable. No lack of functionality or responsiveness is lost, though screwdrive is a bit louder in operation compared to SDM.

The combo is priced to account for the lens.

The K-5 is excellent, fewer than 7000 actuations (currently reading 6594). Includes original box and original accessories. No known problems, works fantastic, great camera.

The 50-135 includes hood and caps. As mentioned above, the lens operates with screwdrive only. This lens is in good condition, having been used as my favorite Pentax lens for some time now. It breaks my heart to move on. It takes wonderfully detailed, sharp photos, with classic Pentax colors and contrast. I love it.

The grip is shown for illustration. Original Pentax grip with accessory box. Includes both types of battery tray, but no extra battery. Buy the grip with the K-5 and 50-135 for 1200, shipped and paypaled. Otherwise, after the body and lens sells then I'll put the grip up individually.

In general, I'm not looking to trade. However, I may trade for a Canon 6D.

Bump to the top.

I'd take 610 for the lens alone (shipped and paypaled).

I'd prefer to sell the lens first (or with the camera).

I'm pretty sure I'd like to buy this, including the grip. Can't send a PM because I registered just to post this (been lurking on the forum on and off for a few months, though).

Can you give me a brief explanation of the issue with the SDM and why you consider it a benefit that it's not working? Did you modify it to make it that way? (SDM is the internal focusing system, right?)

This will be my first Pentax. I've been looking at switching from Nikon for a while now and I'm ready to jump in.

I just have to figure out how to hook my business account up to my paypal account, since the business owns all the electronics.

OK, got the paypal thing figured out, and read up myself on the SDM issue. Seems doable.
