[SOLD] Pentax K - Auto Macro Extension Tubes (Vivitar 12, 20, 36mm)

I posted this on Craigslist in the GTA, but I figured I might have a better response here.

I have a set of Vivitar Pentax-K Mount Auto extension tubes. I have the 12mm, 20mm and 36mm plus original caps. These are very similar to the Pro Optic at adorama.

These extension tubes connect between the lens and body and allow the lens to focus closer (at the expense of not being able to focus further away).

These do not have electronic contacts, so you need to use the green button for exposure.

However, unlike those on eBay these have mechanical aperture linkages, this means you can focus wide open, press the green button and the lens will stop down and take and exposure reading. It's really quite simple.

To use these you need a lens with a mechanical aperture control ring (I have a SMC-A 50mm /1.7 that I have used with this that I might sell as well).

Of course you loose auto-focus, but for macro work thats not that important anyway.

The reason I'm selling these is I bought a 105mm dedicated Macro lens and just don't use these anymore.

Sorry All, I had a power supply related emergency with my computer this weekend. Turns out if your power supply starts producing over 13V then your motherboard has a panic attack and shuts down.

I'm all better now, thanks for asking (though power supplies are getting almost as expensive as lenses).

Here is a shot of the three tubes, taken with my Vivitar 105mm (I love that lens).

As for price, I'm not sure, I put them up on craigslist for $80 CAD, but didn't get any hits. Make me an offer.

I dont see any electrical contacts for passing the info to the camera from the lens for metering. So I am not sure how "automatic" these are.

Am I missing something?

They are automatic in that they allow focusing wide open, and have the mechanical linkage for stopping down. Unlike most of the eBay tubes that are just threaded pipe.

As I mentioned in my first post, they DO NOT have electronic contacts.

sorry...

I did not re read the first post... I just saw this pop back up again and was looking for some semi-auto metering tubes...
My apologies for not reading the whole thread...
