Picture of the Week (POTW) May 22- June 5th 2011
Posted By: mattt, 05-29-2011, 04:08 PM

Welcome to edition 167 of the Pentax Forum's Picture of the Week. Thanks to rparmar for hosting last week!

This edition covers photos from 23-29 May 2011. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax (and Samsung) cameras in the parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

So show us what you've seen in your little corner of the planet! Looking forward to seeing all of what's out there this week. A special welcome to all new members!

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favourite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Here are the links to previous POTW threads:

How about one from my new (to me) Super Tak 35mm f2.0... It's a little out of focus or there's motion blur but how 'bout that nutty bokeh?

After a seemingly endless period of rain, floods, and high water, I was finally able to get out in my kayak this weekend. Yesterday was windy and rough but this evening was beautiful. These are my first bird shots with the M300/4 I have been patiently waiting to use since I bought it last fall. These are very young red wing blackbirds just out of the nest and learning to fly. I was able to get fairly close but mamma wasn't happy and I got buzzed a few times.

A very upset mamma

I have difficulty getting a good focus with the blackbirds. AF lenses are even worse. Anyhow, the season is just starting and I'll get a lot of practice.

Blue Herons & Great Egrets

Went out to make some cityscapes and ended up spending an hour watching the pterodactyls.

Seriously true. All you have to do is hear their cry and the world of the dinosaurs is evoked without fail.

Thanks Mattt, for taking up the hosting duties. Robin's name should be added to list of previous hosts, though I am pretty sure he appears there already.

Here's a contraption I drive past regularly, intrigues me as to what it can be- looks like a small electrical sub-station, but it is the "exhaust" that throws me out!

It's probably a standby generator. Nice capture with the BMX bike.

heh, would that I could. Robin know's that I know that the post is missing that last lil link... and if anyone wants to pm me a tip as to how to get it in there... my BBS experience is lacking in that particular trick.

Thanks Reeftool. You are probably right, given that we have a lot of electricity power failures at the moment. 4 in the first month in the new place I moved to in March. Makes sense-it is a garage, or filling station as it is called in the US.

The FA43 really isn't the best birding lens but it can get a snapshot of one..
