POTW #194: 4 Dec 2011 - 18 Dec 2011

Welcome to edition 194 of the Pentax Forums' Picture of the Week. Special thanks to Noelcmn for hosting the previous week.

This edition covers photos from 11 December - 25 December 2011. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax (and Samsung) cameras in the parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

So show us what you've seen in your little corner of the planet! Looking forward to seeing all of what's out there this week. A special welcome to all new members!

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Hello pentaxians worldwide and welcome to this Christmas edition of POTW. I hpe we will get to see some Christmas connected photos this time round-families, outings, food, lights and malls. We had a bumper edition of POTW last week, lets do it again.
Regrettably I have not had much chance for some photos this week, apart from attending a local soccer tournament and the odd photo here and there.

Sandton City, the economic hub, not just of Johannesburg, or even South Africa, but of Africa as a whole. Location of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (of which I still hope to capture on camera sometime) it is the place to show of your wealth and status.


When you are bored with the soccer, there's always the mobile phone. My, we do start them young on these things here in SA.

So nothing great capture wise but checked out an old abandoned school this week (a few nice old Victorian buildings). The plan is to go back one evening and take some inside shots with atmospheric back lighting (err assuming it's not too creepy ). Will post the results in a few weeks if they turn out any good.

Mr Tibbs, I too like that road into the mist shot. But I like the first one even better, it has such a "make you feel good"vibe to it.

SpecialK, gotta mention that old man on that shipwreck. What a powerful image that is-so many messages there.

Found some angels today-so processed poste-haste!
Not sure if I should call this Cinderella or an angel- give it the latter due to the wings.




This one could not have been present when the angels visited that first Christmas-its sleeping.
