Crown Of Thorns
I like how it's bolted on. The cobwebs are a nice touch too.

Danger: Fun House
No-one was having much fun here.

The Wind That Moves Us
Wind turbines are beautiful but difficult to photograph in a meaningful way. After grappling with the problem for some time I came up with this.

To The Blasket Islands
Taken at the ferry departure point, Slea Head.

All taken with the Vivitar Series 1 105mm.

This one was a missed opertunity. I was fishing watching this guy circle, he started to go and I had to put the rod down grab the camera and fire so I didnt get a good focus, composition, with no time to set aperture or shutter speed

Not much from me

Well not much shooting for fun for me lately. But lots of event stuff. So here's one from this afternoon. FA50mm macro with 60mm of extension so about 2:1. This bug was small. ISO 400 and I slightly underexposed the shot so there's some noise.

These guys were a blast to work with. The wedding was fun and funny. There was some PP work to the image. They were jumping off a picnic table and I thought it looked better without the table. Note the Converse All-Stars on all the Groomsmen.

Who says the K10D can't get fast action? One take for this one.

2 more. As I said these guys were fun to work with. We went for a walk down town in Charlottetown to get some street shots and there was a Jazz festival happening right in the heart of the city. Lots of Port-a-Potties set up and across from where this shot was taken were several cafe's and outdoor patios. The groom would do things unexpectedly all day. When he spotted the 'john's' they both went in. I didn't expect the exit.

A great cheer from the cafe dinners went up as he opened the door.

A little further down the street we got a little more serious. Applause still ringing in the background...

Peter - congrats on all the gigs I am sure it is a double edged sword , with another work task creeping into down time - but at least it is photography and as the shots you posted indicated it can be so much fun. Great series - really good pp on the picnic table I would never had known. Seems like a fun wedding party indeed. Oh and the macro ain't bad either

Rosemary - thanks for the comments - well they say eveyone has a twin or look alike ya never know. Nice portrait of the horse. I think the lighting works well in this shot.

Hog Town

At the taste of Edmonton (where local resturants show their stuff) there was also a vehicle display - here a few Harley's for the bikers in the crowd.

I'm still going through the photos from vacation last week and so far these are some of my favorites. The first 2 were from a Legends of Baseball game I watched at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown and the third is a young whitetail I ran across on a hiking trail in Glimmerglass State Park.

Here are some more photos, since I've been so busy shooting (as always). Once again all were taken with the Vivitar Series 1 105mm.

April, May, June, July
From an antique dealer at the Saturday farmer's market here in Limerick.

Mementos
Did as well as I could shooting through glass.

Thirsty Soldier Beetle
Couldn't see he was drinking until I got the photo on the computer. These guys never keep still!

Angel Of The Woods
From a burial ground in Ventry, Dingle, County Kerry.

Robin, I like the Blasket Islands picture very much! That Soldier Beetle is so great shot!
Brad, those frogs are a great catch!
Dave, women ARE the joy of our lives, for sure! Love the shining bikes!
Rosemary, such a friendly looking horse!
Peter, "not much" is quite plentiful! That happy bridal couple is just so hilarious!
Reeftool, nice action shots!

The sleeping lady
