Posted By: borno, 09-14-2008, 02:52 AM

Peter asked me to get things going this week, so let me give it a go

Welcome to POTW # 27

This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday September 7th till September 20th.

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days. Sunday September 14th to September 20th.
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Nice heron, Tom! I saw one too yesterday, not too far to my tele lenses, but had only a wide angle with me, so no luck!

weatherwise2, I like the B&W very much!

James, that blue architectural photo is interesting, looks as you had mixed together Texas country side windmills and Hong Kong skyscrapers Where is that from?

These are from yesterday at sunset. I call this series "touch down" (I actually went back to get the heron, but got these instead with my Sigma 100-300mm.)

George, excellent sunset shot. I would have to do a couple of sunset shots in the near future. This can be quite time consuming

The shot was taken inside a building in the city while I took a walk Snap shot

Tom - your heron shots are terrific! I wish we had some local wet lands here!

Weather - abandoned bridge works great in b&w.

Georg - really nice captures of the sunset, great colors.

James - you and your food, making me hungry, though I'm partial to the building "snap shot".

I'm still hangin on to Sears 135mm f2.8 on short ext tubes for it's unique character (all at f2.8) :

Regards,
D

Asahi Pentax S3 [1961] with Auto Takumar f/1.8 55mm and a host of other earlier Auto-Takumar lenses.

I've been recovering from spinal surgery as well as trying to keep up with a new job at work and have not got out much to shoot. Sorry for cross-posting, but I posted more details on this in the film camera forum under the "... Portrait" thread. I thought I'd post here as I actually like how this turned out.

Taken with a K10D with Tamron 28-75mm at 38mm, f/2.8 1/6th of a second, hand held.

woof!

I like the dock weatherwise

great shots as usual, James. That food really looks good!

Georg- I love the colors, makes me anxious to get my k10d back from service tuesday, I just can't seem to get any sunrises to look as good with my super (hope it is fixed this time)

I like what you are getting from that sears combination Duh_Vinci

Nice collection Woof!

I've been thinking after looking at the results I am getting with an old smc 500mm f4.5 I am really liking the bokeh (makes me want more old glass)

I hate to admit it, but I actually know these guys...

The guy on the far right is a good friend of mine. I guess you can tell they're diehard Jets fans...

Great shots folk .

It has been a long day of location shooting . But the images are worth it .

Mysterious IR Lady

BTW , I'm a new "pro" PENTAX shooter now . We got kicked out of the location by the park rangers ! Anybody can shoot for fun but only the "pro" needs permit - more money for the city , I guess . I did not even know about it ! The first time I heard .

They were very nice and cool about it , just the rule they have to go by . One park ranger did say his Dad was a pro too so he knows when he see one .

My model was quite impressed . She is the Canon girl ,though

Windy (Rainy as well) City ...

A couple of quick ones from me.. I am in Chicago on buinsess. Record setting day for most rain in one day on Satruday - Sunday was not much better (and it was rining on Friday as well - lots of homes flooded , streets , highways closed) But went out anyway.

New Trump Tower (still being built)

There are some beautiful Buildings in Chicago for sure ...great combination of Old and New ..

Thank you kindly Dave. I am definitely going to fully recover. Just time.

Nice series of Chicago. I love number 2 with the mist almost engulfing the top floors. Nicely done!

Some really nice shots posted. I would much rather be out shooting myself but I have a rather necessary project in progress going on at home right now. It has been raining a lot so I guess I wouldn't be out doing much anyhow. Not the best of snapshots but the cellar is quite dark and kind of cramped at the moment. I shot this handheld at f/3.5 and 1/4 second and ISO 1600.

Thank you all for the comments to my sunset images!

James, Dave, I was about half an hour in the bird tower where I climbed to see the horizon. The actual drama was rather quick though, it took about 10 minutes from the position of about one sun's width above the horizon to complete disappearance!

Duh, what a beautiful soft-sharp macros you have taken!

Woof, there is something very satisfying in your vintage photo! I like the leather, the soft glow of the silver metal and the whole setup!

Borno, love the bird, your 500mm seems a good performer in your hands!

Alan, well they are your friends... Looks like fun time, actually!

Tran, I like the toning very much!

Dave, those rainy shots are inspiring me in this autumn time to go out even if it's foggy and gray! The last one is my favourite!

reeftool, it's just great that you document common household works!
