Posted By: daacon, 09-21-2008, 09:43 AM

Welcome to POTW # 28

This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday September 14th till September 27th.

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days. Sunday September 14th to September 20th.
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Thanks for starting the new POTW, Dave! That reflective ellipsoid is interesting! (and you included my favourite cityscape from your second Chicago series too!)

Here are some nature photos I took today:

Duck on a pond

Here is an image that I photographed yesterday at Greenfield Industrial Park in Lancaster Pennsylvania. I used a polarizer filter to block the reflections and a Tamron AF 18-200mm lens.

It's not one of mine....I don't grow roses.

That was taken during my daily photowalk at work...

Georg - thanks for the comments. I like the nature shots, the second one especially the path leads you to what is beyond.

Alan - nice new toy ! That is one sharp lens I must admit - good to see you putting it to use for your street shots (although it is not a subtle lens by any means ha ha)

borno - thanks for the comments looking forward to your pics.

James - thanks for the comments - your first one makes me hungry. I love #2, it has a similiar build to the sears tower. The Sears tower has 9 'tubes' with some ending at 60 stories , some at 90 and the last at 103. It appears your building has the same 'tubes' base with some ending before others.

Cindy s - that is a nice duck shot - very sharp.

Great start all

Some more from the Windy City

I posted these on the Post Your Photos side and not one comment bah (it'salready well down on page 2 soon to disappear ) ! So I am repeating here ..becuase I can ha ha

These structures have water runing down all sides into a base pool. At night the colors were very bright. I am not sure where the camera was to get you face on the screen wish I had found it

I was behind some bushes and this guy started coming towrds me aggressively, I can only imagine he saw a reflection in the smc 500mm f4.5. kind of spooky I didn't want to take my eye from the viewfinder to see what he saw, but he was coming right at me! I'll only post a couple with resect to those w/ limited bandwidth

Dave – I really like the night scene in the first set, and the “yellow glow” building in the second set.

Georg – the second shot, path to the river? Very surreal.

Maxwell – truly beautiful rose!

James – the building perfectly suited by your placement it into the sky scene.

Cindy – simple and effective!

Tom – great heron photos as usual!

Song – nice street captures.

Few from the past few days. I've been enjoying the time with "wide openness" of the apertures.

Regards,
D
