4) Date : Sunday 04/26/09 - Sunday 05/10/09 Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

This weeks off to a good start.

Couple taken today. First 2 were just taken when it was getting dark. Had to crank up the ISO to 3200, just to get 250 shutter speed with my 300mm lens. Other was taken with my 100mm with extensions. Not a great shot, but I like the way the eyes look. He was on a windows screen, so you can get an idea of the size of him. I really liking this macro photography. It's addictive. Just need to get a better setup.

Walk around my yard

gawan-----Nice patterns on those huge rocks
jezza323---tough to follow such wonderful pictures
daacon----- nice softball shots. been at baseball for three weeks now as an umpire and boy am I feeling it
eccs19----nice deer shots and spider

A few from a walk around my house. A slow walk as umpiring five games a week has taken its toll on my knees.

Thanks for hosting, Georg.

Georg - those lichens just about have that rock covered completely. Nice subtle colors and textures.

Dave - Ball season! Nice action.

Jezza - Ok, those are just beautiful. I love the light and mist over the water on #2 best.

Eccs - pretty deer. That's a cute spider - love its row of eyes!

Scott - nice Spring flowers in the garden. First is Forsythia, others I don't know.

Nothing yet for me this week, still drying out from trying to photograph during the weekend's rain. Forecast looks better later this week though

jezza323 - I am ok with that boarder - very simple and it does look good on the shot. As for the shots themself nice series of long shutter speeds. I like them all but the surfer , sunset(s) and last are are my favs.

eccs19 - Nice shots of the deer and yeah you got the eyes on the spider - Macro photography opens a whol new world !

Scott - thanks for comments - hope the umpiring goes well and the knees recover. Wonderfull colorful flower shots. Nice to have them so close.

Kevin - thanks for the comments.

Rense - thanks for the comments - Wow very detailed macros - looks like a fine project (and you got third in the challenge so well done).

Legacby - ahhhhhhhh you people are killing me with all this color - great shots of the garden - hope to get out of this BW world soon.

Great, good start here!

Dave - Thanks for comments! Your shots are from the day you also shot the burst shots, I assume! Great that last one, waiting for the ball!
Jeremy - must say those sunsets on the shoe are stunning! The old ship skeleton really adds to the subject!
Eccs19 - Superb shots in so scarce light! 3200 ISO with *ist D, amazing!
Scott - Thanks for the comments! Wow, you already have flowers, we have to wait until summer time!
Kevin - Thank you for the comments! Waiting for the dry days then...
Rense - Thanks for the comment, I love lichens, they stay still even when it is windy Love your clock shots, especially the first, like being inside the clock!
Jeff - Really beautiful late spring scene! Looks very much like a summer already!

Few more from the "troll forest"'

Georg/Gawan,
thanks for hosting and you have kept those braid/lichens really well color- and exposurewise (obiously I don't know the exact word but I know what I see :-)

Dave, that's how I imagine things to be canadian style: Let's throw some balls, season starts now! After all it's not your fault that summer's not longer.

Jezza,
your #1 is my #1 also, awesome colors. Good idea to try longexposure clouds, thanks :-)

Eccs, I am too impatient for macro I guess, but have tried recently and learned how hard it really is. Great spider shot ! About your first pic, there is a green pattern on the fur, is this from the blurred plants in the foreground?

Scottnorwo,
I am guessing that your umpiring is about baseball? I have seen that some posts before :-) I was just wondering in which sport you have to run so much as an umpire. Your #1 and #2 are allright for me cause I am a sucker for yellow vs. blue and both of them have really beautiful complementing colors.

Rense, those are brutally sharp and I guess that's just what watches are all about, precision that is.

Legacy before,
awesome colors from an awesome lense. If I was not so stingy this would be the lense for me.

Jim, #2 really has it as the picture seems to talk to me. Never seen an ostrich's eyes like that, transparent it seems.

Here's two from me last week,

Overcropped but here's the action. The duck was really attacking the fishing heron, never seen that before. The heron looked quite in tatters.

Can't let up with them swans. Juveniles seem to have a brighter beak.

Best, Georg (the other)

If I had to take an educated guess, (and a guess it is), I would say it was probably an artifact from the noise reduction. The shots were very grainy, so as I said, best guess.

Something Different?

Here are a couple of shots a caught of a worker pressure cleaning a fountain. With the light behind the spray, I felt it made a rather dramatic shot.
