Posted By: Peter Zack, 10-25-2009, 07:10 PM

So it's time to see your stuff from last week and this upcoming week.

Thanks Rense for the POTW. Nice stuff last week posted here

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 10/11/2009 to Sunday - Sunday 10/25/2009. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

Previous hosts: (each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 83 weeks. Peter started the links, I know it had to be a lot of editing!!

So a few very different ones from me. A hotel outside wall of balconies. A couple of different versions of fall leaves and a little girl I did a portrait session with. 2 years old and a lot of fun to capture.

an no, I did not blank out the darkened one. It was just like that but it was around 10PM and this hotel in in the countryside. No street lights to add any light inside the triangle. So it was black enough that it looks like I made it so.

Peter, thanks for hosting and a great series to start with.

DA 40mm

Recreating a shot I did last fall but changed the angle a bit (and used a different lens); guess that makes it a different shot altogether!

That's a nice shot. I bet you did some serious searching for a leaf that perfect. The Japanese Maple leaf always makes me smile. They look so much like another old favourite:

But that was a long time ago in my youth.

I spent another incredibly rainy weekend at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga, NY. My daughter is in her senior year at St. Lawrence Univ. and her seventh year of competing in different races at this event as both a high school and collegiate rower. They finally went home with the gold and the coveted "Fish Head" Sunday. The rain and mud did nothing to dampen their day.

Here's a couple from the weekend.

We went to a very, very good pizza place on Saturday. They have a brick oven that's 18 feet by 18 feet (notice the long handle).

The oldest residential street in the US, Elfreths Alley...

Some nice diversity here this week.

Peter, love the lights, how they look like hearts. And the little girl is just great!

Legacy, nice leaf. Such a bright color to find all in one piece.

bbluesman, love the shot with the couple and the sun. Really nice.

reeftool, nice capture on the boat. You were standing above on what?

Oldschool, nice ones too. I don't care much for pizza, but that's an awful long handle to pull out. The street I really like.

Now for a few, and I mean a few, of mine from last week. I was not happy with my bird shots.

First a photo of what I didn't want coming to the feed I put out.

A small creature. I liked how the sun was shining on this one. Did not like the noise in this photo. I was using Fuji Superia 400.

One of my many Zinnias.

And one Macro with the DCR-150/Raynox adapter:

I was shooting from a bridge looking straight down. The bridge is under construction for repair so the walkway is only available on one side. It's also the finish line so I had to anticipate the best I could where they were going to pop out. I used the kit lens at 55mm. There is a much lower bridge upstream. The shot I wanted to get is to climb into the supports under the bridge and get a shot with the fisheye from a few feet directly above. I wimped out. I have the full burst of the finish and others on my picasa page at picasaweb.google.com/reeftool

Wow! Looks like everybody is cranking it up a notch this week!

Peter- Awesome series, I particularly love the shot of the Hotel.

Legacy- That is so nicely composed, full of texture, wonderful shot.

Bluesman- love that bridge shot! Wonderful composition, again.

Photolady- thank you so much for taking the time to post your film shots! Lot's of work to get them to digital (I imagine you get a CD made when developing?). Brave shots on film- love the last two!

Seacap- go go transparent Crab. Go go.

Lithos- butcher shot is amazing. What patience, great framing, BW treatment is Perfect.

Here's a few from a quick walk-around in the Westmount sector of Montreal this morning. Just wanted to get some texture and vibe of fall before it's gone..

virgilr, no I don't have a cd made. I have my film developed and then scan my negatives. I see no sense in paying someone to do what I can do, cheaper. Plus mine are all high resolution and go on DVDs not cds.

Been away for a while chasing football and soccer games and a weekend away with the family. Football to start. Finally had a little sun to work with and boy what a difference. Last shot under full lights at night.

Not one foot on the ground.

Looks like a sure catch, but defender tipped the ball and the receiver did catch the ball but out of bounds

Under the full lights (or lack of lights)
