Picture of the Week #96 January 3 to January 17
Posted By: Iris, 01-10-2010, 05:05 AM

The New POTW is here!!!!

Thanks Paul (Oldschool) for asking me to host.

Picture of the Week 96: January 3, 2010 to January 17, 2010

I guess most holidays are over now, so I hope a lot of people have the time to post something this week.
If the weather is to bad outside, how about posting some inside pictures? Have fun shooting

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date: Sunday Jan 3 2010 to Sunday Jan 17 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 94 weeks.

I don't get out to shoot enough just for fun but like to join it so I'll add a couple from a Wedding I just did. I think they are fun shots.

Gotta love the old Takumars. This was taken with the Takumar SMC 50mm f1.4 I carry the K10D with a splt screen as a spare body and a couple old MF lenses that have a charm the modern lenses just can't match. If there's time for a few creative shots, I' whip this body out.

This was a bride who was a lot of fun to work with and she was up for something different. That makes the work really enjoyable. If I can come up with a different idea and they want to try it too.

Iris,
Thank you for hosting. I hope to have some photos later this week as I'll be leaving for Puerto Rico on Wednesday (and warm weather, I hope).

I recently acquired a DA 18-55mm WR. Here are a few close-ups taken in my backyard using the new 18-55mm WR and the K20.

Iris, thanks for being hostess of the PotW this week! Great to see new members participating here too.
Don't know if you all have seen the discussion about the weekly challenges in 'Everything Else', but everyone can join these! So, please feel free to post your pictures here. It hasn't to be anything special, this one is just to show us what you like to photograph!!

Peter - great wedding shots! Seen that second one in another thread (your rant on the 16-50?). Why did you choose to do this one in sepia?
Jezza - nice shots, I like the IR especially. Want to try that once myself, but don't know about the IR shield of the K20....
András - cute! And congrats on aquiring a K-x!
Frank - great flower shots, I like the first one!!
Ken - beautiful seaside (?) pics! Those birds are fine, some are sleeping 'eyes wide open'!
Johno - nice flowers, like the orange hibiscus-like best. Thanks for some colour in our winter world!

Hope to post some myself later this week, right now I am without camera because a friend has my K20. She is considering a Pentax, probably a K200 or a K-x, but wanted to feel the K20 too.... Makes me feel nude somehow....

Some random shots in the last film I scanned

Thanks for hosting Iris.
These are not from this week but from the last roll of TRIX I scanned.

Just snapshots...
Have fun!

Good morning Rense. Thanks for the comments. The bench is overlooking Bouge Sound , a body of water between our barrier island beach and the mainland. The birds would normally be on the other side of the island in the surf but it's been unusually cold so they were huddled together on the dock trying to keep warm and out of the wind. Last one was a consideration for Project 52 . The water in the background is the Atlantic.
