Picture of the Week: March 21 to April 4
Posted By: bumbibop, 03-29-2010, 12:30 AM

This is the 107th Picture of the Week!

I'd like to thank xjjohnno for the trust in me, giving me the chance to host this weeks PoTW. And I'd like to apologize for being late with it, as I was away working all weekend I didnt have the chance til now ^^ Thank you all.

POTW is fun because everyone can post whatever pictures they took that week, and we get variety of great photos. We should start getting even more variety as the Northern Hemisphere residents thaw out and welcome spring. We Southern Hemisphere friends ease into Autumn. Let's shoot!

Feel free to post your photos from this coming week, as well as this last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames, there are no rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung DSLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR

4) Date: Sunday 21 March 2010 to Sunday 4 April 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 103 weeks. 1 Peter Zack, 2Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan,10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295 , 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon,58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno 89 Bramela , 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot ,93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack, 101 Netuser 102 Photolady, 103 Tamia,

As I've been busy, I didnt have no new pics to contribute with ^^ so I had to find something quick to shoot..
..and ofcourse, bike parts came to my mind rather swift.

Bumbibop I'm sure you'll do a great job of hosting this week's POTW, thanks for taking over.
Best I kick off WITH MY OWN picture contributions.
Came across this pair of diamond pythons being let out for a crawl.

Melbourne's 8 hour day monument. A bit of trivia, construction workers here were the first to ge an 8 hour work day way back in 1856.

Thanks for hosting, Robin! And it's always nice to see pictures of bikes and bike parts.

Xjjohnno, interesting flower show, complete with pythons.

Jezza, beautiful colors and light stars!

Dave, who doesn't love steam engines? Great shot.

Kottier, good one!

Dave, that's a nifty travel. Very classy.

Kottier, all shoes yours? :O nice shot. quite crowded. (Made me think of one of my favorite songs "Two shoes" with the Cat Empire)

Tamia, great serie. Love the "Tenacity and Hope". Wonderful thought and well captured.

Bees

I really wanted to get a closer shot than this, but with the swarm of bees flying around I thought this shot from about 3 feet away at 75mm was close enough. Bees were flying all around me when I took this shot. I don't know what caused the bees to be on the ground like this, but it was definitely exciting getting this picture.

BEE-utiful picture Frank. (sorry...i just couldn't resist)

btw...you've got bigger cajones than I do for taking that shot. I'd have run off "screaming like a little girl", as they say, had I seen those bees.

Here's a couple I took this weekend when walking around town. taken with my Super-Takumar 24mm f/3.5

Frank, had you smoked yourself up before going after those bees you could have got closer. My late husband and I used to "rob" er, excuse that, we would stand in a smoky fire before hand and the bees never came close to us.

I see a lot of great photos so far this week. Keep em coming.

Here's my contributions:

New addition to my doves; this is a Eurasion-Collared Dove. Interesting background as these were introduced to the Bahamas in the late 1970s.

Back view:

And I've been trying like crazy to capture this little lady but she keeps moving before I can get a shot. Finally got one the other day.
