Theatinerkirche Munich
| Description |
A night shot of the Theatinerkirche in Munich, Germany.
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theatinerkirche_%28M%C3%BCnchen%29
What is special about this shot is this:
It is a shot I liked a lot but shouldn't have been able to take at all!
Because:
1. Shot taken in the dark...
2. Shot at 70mm without tripod!
3. Still, high resolution, without any noise, and pushing a blue sky!
About 1:
Taken at 2008, July 10, 21:17 CET. According to the iPhone application "PhotoCalc", this is 1 hour after sunset (21:15) and 24 min after end of twilight (21:53). The sky appeared black on images taken at this moment.
About 2:
Handheld, yes.
DA70, ISO 1600, 1/15s, f/2.4.
About 3:
Ok, I used PhotoAcute to supersample 14 such images. This removes the noise, gives extra headroom to push the dark sky to blue, and even reduces some of the motion blur in individual images.
Note that I downsampled to 3600x2400 and used JPG quality 40% only to match the galleries size requirement.
