Title They are back.
Description My resident hummingbird has been back for 2 weeks.Come sept-oct they will be gone.I have other hummingbird shots in "general pentax photography" the thread being "my "hummer" technique"--charliezap. The shot was taken at 1/4000sec @f/8 iso 3200. I would love to see other shots of h-birds from others.

They are back.

So amazing to see how fast a shot it takes to freeze the action on those wings. I would really love to see some shots allowing for wing blur with lower iso to get back the color and iridescence that these guys are famous for. Good work. Thanks for posting.

I think this is a good attempt. I wish we had hummingbirds in Australia.

It appears that the location of the hummingbird is restricted to a specific feeding point, so it is not necessary to go down to F8 for DOF reasons. I would suggest increasing the aperature to F4 (2 stops) and reducing the ISO to 800 (- 2 stops) to reduce the noise. I don't go above ISO 1600 with my K20D.
