silver maple samara
| Description |
I'd climbed down a bank to hunt for salamanders at the edge of Helena Marsh late in the afternoon. I didn't find any, but I did notice this silver maple samara sitting in slow-moving water. (Actually, there's a pair, but one's pretty well hidden.)
