I shot this picture from the top of the Hancock Building in Chicago on our family vacation in 2009. I don't believe tripods are allowed on the observation deck of the Hancock so it was handheld. I love the festive glow of the lights.
On a personal note, I'm very afraid of heights and it was everything I could do to force myself up to the window of the building to snap off this shot. The fear is irrational, but real. Still, I'm glad I did it. I really like the way this shot turned out.
