I love the clarity of this shot. You did a good job of capturing the beauty of the pheasant within her natural habitat. Thanks for sharing with other photographers on the forum. I would have rated the photo Superb if there hadn't been the strands of grass in front of the bird. I had the same problem with squirrel shots I took recently. It's a great shot as is, it would have been even better with that small change. Never-the-less, very well done!

Thanks very much! Funny story to this pheasant, this was the first day I had my new-to-me Sigma 70-200, and I was driving home when I went past a fat pheasant wandering by the roadside. I turned the car round and drove back to try and get a photo but the pheasant was too nervous and I couldn't get closer than about 10m. So in the end I gave up and drove off. I was driving the wrong way though, so I pulled into a side road to turn around again. As I looked over my shoulder to put the car in reverse, I saw this (different) pheasant standing in the grass about 3m away from me! Wound down the window, and took a couple of shots before he ran off
