One of Christchurch's iconic pubs, originally badly damaged in the 7.1 September 5th 2010 earthquake, now fatally battered on the Tuesday 22nd of feb 6.3 earthquake.
Repair work had been ongoing, now the scaffolding and temporary engineering repairs barely prevent whats left of the facade from coming down. Prior to Tuesdays quake, the Carlton had been operating fairly normally, and to let the punters know a sign had been advertising the fact out front.
Now, like some black comedy, it points to a missing wall and exposed rooms.
