Title Toothpick Flower Detail
Description The humble Toothpick wild flower is abundant during the summer and offers lots of fresh perspectives.

I chose a B&W process to emphasize the shapes and "black sun" effect. Processed from RAW with DxO Optics Pro 6.6.

Toothpick Flower Detail

wow, great photo; it's nice to see flower shots from different than the standard angle.
I'm thinking of getting a macro lens and was browsing through some macro shots. This photo would reinforce my opinion that I want one.

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Note that this photo was taken with a simple DA 16-45mm lens - not a macro lens!
In fact, I think that unless you are very serious about macro photography, you can do very well without one, by using good quality diopter filters.
I got very good results and decent magnification with a Sony VCL-3358 +3.3 diopter married to my sigma DC 55-200mm (at 200mm), and a Raynox DCR-150 +4.8 diopter attached to my DA 70mm Limited.
