Misty Watercolor Morning
| Description |
This is my morning route to work, compressed into one frame thanks to the strong compression of the 200mm focal length. I just love compressed telephoto landscapes!
I took the shot from my neighborhood in Haifa, Israel. My workplace is roughly where the little tower is seen on the distant hill. The 30min drive goes along the electric posts in the bottom, and through the hills in the middle.
For those curious about the post-processing, it was done solely in the LR4.3 Develop module, and consisted mostly of exposure, contrast and levels tweaking in the "Basic" and "Tone curve" tabs. I cooled the white balance just a tiny bit to emphasize the natural blue that came from the morning haze, and to make the bright sky whiter. The goal was to achieve the look of a watercolor painting on white paper.
