I was out by a lake with my Sigma 150-500 and the light was very nice.
The greatness of the forrest on the other side of the lake catched my eye. There was no colors in the woods and it looked quite magic. That together with the 3 fishermen framed by the birch trees on the right side made, in my head a perfect image.
It shows humans true size compared to nature but also their strength. Beating the cold ice to get food.
I have cropped away a very small portion of the image to make it more panoramic. I also made some small adjustments in PS and LR to enhance what I saw. Its not far from the original at all but still it looks almost like a painting. My biggest concern was that the "fishermen" were to crisp. I had to blur their edges a bit. I also removed a few straws of reed in the left foreground.
Im guessing some judges will ask for a tighter crop and I have considered it but I think that would break the contrast in size between the woods and fishermen. The original image is 4800 pix wide so if you want to look closer you can.
Not sure if anyone else appreciates this kind of image but I do very much. I hope someone else can get something out of it as well.
