Female Neon Skimmer
| Description |
To the best of my knowledge, this is a female Neon Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula croceipennis). I took it with a Pentax Optio S in my driveway, where it was holding on to the car's antenna. The backdrop is provided by the blue garage door. The Optio S came with ACDsee software, which is still my fastest photo browser, and comes with a handy auto levels button which in this case added a saturated look. Even in macro mode, it is easy to recognize the human shape in the background (the reflection of me). I look forward to having more control in macro shots with my new K10D! Just need to get a proper lens first.
