K3 at ISO 51,200.
| Description |
This is my idea of a stress test for the K3. Go downstairs in the dark after mounting the DA*16-50/2.8 and setting the ISO to 51200. There is a power bar behind the organ, and the K3 actually got focus on the pilot lamp in the switch. That's the first miracle. The second miracle is when I pointed the camera sort of in the direction of the organ and pressed the shutter release. I couldn't see anything that wasn't lit up by the pilot light either.
This is not my idea of a beautiful image, but the camera got a hand held image at ISO 51200: 1/3 second at f/2.8, 50mm on the DA*16-50. I think that is absolutely miraculous.
I took some images of the trick or treaters at ISO 9000 and ISO 6400 and they are perfectly usable for 4x6 snapshot prints.
