Vineyards at dawn
| Description |
This was my attempt to recreate a shot taken 10 years before on Kodachrome, in which the image had a blue cast and was underexposed but looked great.
This was taken before I had any RAW software (Photoshop elements 7), and I was using a much older version of PE that came with an ancient Minolta scanner that only allowed basic adjustments to JPEG files. So I have no RAW version of the image.
I took a variety of shots at different exposures, but only got exactly what I wanted by using the tungsten colour balance on the K10 (so a heavy dark blue cast) and then using the 'auto levels' tool in PE. This really does look exactly the way I remember seeing it, and like the Kodachrome taken many years before.
The 18-250 was used about halfway along its range, and I had sensibly packed a tripod in my suitcase.
