Winter is subsiding all over the northern United States. Here in Minnesota on April 5, the streams are opening up and the snow has mostly melted. The threat of snow and cold is still here for a short while yet but it will be short lived; the sun is too high in the sky. Some trees are just starting to bud, but this tree stand is mostly dead, ghosts of the swamp, silhouetted by the setting sun.
