This wasp was quite intent on building on my front porch, and so thankfully didn't mind posing for me.
1/180s f/6.7 ISO 200 Pentax K100d
The overhang makes the porch quite dark, and so I used the built-in flash for fill - which unfortunately is quite visible in the wasp's right eye(s).
In retrospect I would have used a slightly greater DOF, an external flash & foam bounce card, and possibly some spray. :-)
