A few observations/critique on myself;
Took a class from a local pro on sunset/landscapes. He is a big proponent of 'in camera' process, eschewing the Photoshop school and embracing old school film techniques applied to digital. I must say I prefer this very much.
Long exposures, C-PL plus split neutral density filters, plus spending a lot of time setting up different 'roles of film' in the camera - Kodachrome, Tri-X and tweaking White Balance for the conditions.
The conditions were very tough. What should have been optimum time of year for glorious sunsets was hampered by smoke and haze from raging wildfires hundreds of miles away.
While the wireless remote 'seemed' like a great idea, location/proximity to camera was fussy. I should have brought the cable release.
Some shots had a red reflection from the red remote indicator light on camera.
Handheld filter made for reflections in nearly every shot, I'm just going to need a proper holder.
I need to learn white balance nuances of my Pentax, the suggested settings were very blue cast.
It was hard to pull up any color & contrast and I am going to blame the smokey haze 😊
I am a little disappointed with the 'noise' or pixillation in my shots, pretty sure the image stabilization was set to off...
I have one shot I am pleased with, I punched it up a notch in the computer and added vignette for drama, and to mask filter reflection...
I don't think enlargements would look so great, but dramatic on the screen...
