Rio Grande 'n Mesa

This image has the potential to be excellent with just a little post processing. I took it and used "shadows and highlights" on it aggressively and the image really jumps off the page. You held the blue sky well and overexposed the clouds just a little, but lost the detail in the mountain. That's where the "shadows" tool comes in.

Hi there,

Thanks for the comment and pointer. Unfortunately I don't have the Highlight/Shadows tool since i don't have Photoshop. I'm using Gimp (and Pixel) here on an Ubuntu system. I am making up for the lack of PS and the Shadow tool by using Qtpfsgui on the photo. I had bracketed all the photos I took on Pentax Day, so little by little I'm finding the optimal look(most realistic; trying to avoid the plasticly HDR look that sometimes happens).

I'm hoping its a good thing that some of my photos are getting comments. ;-)
