Actually, this is as butterfly. A member of the skipper family. I don't know which one, as I'm not up on skippers of Australia.

Well, I am not up on this much either: in fact you just had me googling moth vs butterfly to even know how to tell the difference between butterflies and moths, let alone identifying individual specimens of either.
But when I was submitting this I got my info from here


- it looks like a match to me! It does say it is related to butterflies.

Hi, arkav is right, this is a butterfly. The most compelling evidence is the club antennae. Also, the way it holds its wings at rest is classic skipper behaviour. My money would be on Greenish Grass Dart (Ocybadistes walkeri)
