Had just joined a queenless hive with one that had a queen. The two bees with their bottoms showing are standing on the landing board facing the hive and fanning their wings to spread the queen's pheromone to alert the others about her new location. Not an outstanding photo as far as the DOF, but liked the unexpected capture of the movement of the wings. I have read the wing speed is approx. 230 per sec. Taken in full sun at 1/250. Speed of the wings appears to be underestimated.
