Pros: | Good optics, included with the 67 M*800/6.7 lens. | Cons: | One stop loss of light. Limited usage. | | The 67 T5-1.4X Rear Converter is only sold with the Pentax 67 M*800/6.7 ED lens, it will not work with any other 6x7 lens. Usage:
Adding the T5-1.4x rear converter to your 67 800/6.7 lens will give you a 1120mm f9.3 lens, which is pretty good for the Pentax 6x7 system.
There is a 1 stop loss of light which results in a darker viewfinder. The T5-1.4x rear converter also adds extra weight/length to your already long and heavy 800/6.7 lens.
The optics are very good, with just a slight image reduction compared to using the lens on its own.
CASE: The T5-1.4X Rear Converter fits into a slot in the 67 800/6.7 trunk, so it does not have a dedicated soft case like the other later grey 67 rear converters.
CAPS: The T5-1.4X Rear Converter has a dedicated metal front cap that fits over the protruding front element and it uses a regular rear 67 lens cap. Summary:
The 67 T5-1.4X Rear Converter is nice to have if you want to increase the focal length of your 800/6.7 lens, however it has the usual negatives associated with any rear converter. Biggest issue is it only works on one lens and you probably won’t use it very much.
Sample shots taken with the 67 T5-1.4X Rear Converters are in my review of the 67 M*800/6.7: https://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews/SMC-Pentax-M-Star-67-800mm-F6.7-Lens.html | |
