Pros: Sharp! All metal build. Clear glass with large Aperture.
Cons:

I found this lens on a Tower Camera in a garage sale. It was in a leather case with the camera so It was well preserved.

Of interest is the following:

1. Ten bladed Aperture f/1.9-f/22.
2. Aperture ring is on front of lens, and an infinite number of Aperture values can be selected (between stops).
3. Filter size is 46mm (Forty-Six).
4. The lever is to 'Pre-Charge' the Aperture. To obtain the widest Aperture (for focusing clarity) you pull the lever down with your left index finger until it locks the Aperture wide open. You can then select any Aperture you like, and when the Shutter is released the standard M42 'Pin' on the back of the lens is pressed with the 'Paddle' in the lens bay releasing the locked Aperture. This of course works only with the old film cameras. However, I use this lens more than my other Takumar's because unlike most Takumar lenses you can set a small Aperture and use the lever to 'hold' the Aperture open wide enough to focus and release it prior to opening the shutter. The lever is spring loaded and moves the Aperture towards full open the further you pull it. However, if you go all the way to the 'lock' position you must remove the lens and press the pin to free up the Aperture blades.
5. Focusing feels very similar to my other Takumar lenses.
6. Uses standard M42 adapter on K mounts.
7. All metal, superb build quality.
8. Very sharp, even at f22.

I haven't used it all that much because of the focal length. As small as it is it should work well with a FF Pentax (or other brand) DSLR with an adapter. I don't think there is any coating on the lens. Sometimes in the right light the glass appears very slightly gold like the Tak 50 f1.4, which may mean there is some type of coating, but I can't confirm it. I use a 46mm-49mm adapter so I can use 49mm filters.

Overall I really like the lens, but you may get similar quality photo's from the more readily available standard Takumars.

Excellent glass.
