Latest Review Posted | SMC/S-M-C/Super Takumar 50mm F1.4 I really love this lens!
I'm wondering if there is perhaps a typo in the Product Code info given above for the 2nd and 3rd editions... My particular copy has the knurled metal focus ring, body, engraved name "Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:1.4/50", and overall appearance of a 2nd edition, but a product code "37902" (3rd edition!). 2nd edition lens with a 3rd edition product code? Don't think so. The info in this "Takumar Field Guide" says the product code for the 2nd edition is 37902 which seems to make more sense:Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:1.4/50mm
Produced 1971 to 1972. Serial Numbers 4337xxx - 6482xxx. AOCo Product No. 37902
SMC TAKUMAR 1:1.4/50mm
Produced 1972 to 1975. Serial Numbers 5346xxx - 8062xxx. AOCo Product No. 37908
Anyway, the "Fukushima warmth" (yellowing) was easily mitigated using a Walmart LED bulb, and my copy seems otherwise pristine.
