My favorite lens on the K1 (the Pentax 50mm 1.4 SDM AW and Irix 15mm f2.4 round out my top 3). This is very big, heavy and imposing but the quality of the shots is jaw dropping and worth it. I have been shooting it without the lens hood because it makes it much less imposing and I've not noticed any appreciable increase in flare for the types of shots that I've taken (usually I don't shoot into the sun). I can't recommend it highly enough. I hope that Pentax continues as they have been catering to the non-fad end of the market. Bravo
