After being very impressed with the Pentax-A* 645 300mm F4, I had no issue with spending money on this lens. Unlike the 300mm, I've found the focusing a little less forgiving on the K5 (I mean a very small movement is the difference between out of focus and in), but once you allow for that, its a great little lens (even on the K5).
