Latest Review Posted | SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.4 AL I had an FA 35/2, then heard on this forum that the DA 35/2.4 was excellent as well as being much cheaper, so I decided to downgrade the FA 35/2 into the DA 35/2.4 and some cash, in order to fund the purchase of a couple of MF lenses. I'm pretty pleased with the decision. It is my poor man's macro lens, as the sharpness is excellent for close subjects. For subjects farther away, not so much, but still acceptable.
This lens is light! I was surprised how light it was.
There is no aperture ring but I can't see any situation where I would need an aperture ring for this lens. The focusing ring turns a bit too smoothly; I'd prefer a little more resistance.
For whatever gripes I might have, considering that this was a $150 lens for me, I can't complain much. It is a GREAT value lens. |
