I have the 2nd generation 7 element Super Takumar version with 6 aperture blades. I purchased it 3 years ago and the price included a case, caps and hood, but was very low because everything was coated in dust. With a bit of careful cleaning the lens was in great shape.
This lens was good enough that it convinced me to go out and buy an FA 50mm f/1.4 shortly afterwards as an auto-focus companion to it. I have been very happy with the results on both film and digital, and find that the images are often quite striking in black and white.
Using a lens hood is strongly recommended, and figuring out the metering compensation on a digital body takes some practice.
