I've had this lens for over two years now and it simply one of my favorite.
My backyard backs up to a greenbelt and I leave my K20 mounted with DA300 by the back door and it is always ready to take a picture of the urban wildlife that comes out into the opening. Over the past years I've got some great shots of bobcats, coyotes, hawks, and other small animals. I'm always impressed with this lens and have yet to be disappointed. It is also wonderful for taking closeup photos of flowers, insects and lizards without them being frightened off by getting to close. And of course lots of pictures of our dog.
I also use this lens for motor sport photography and it is a stellar performer. The only thing might be that the K20 is not the best at shooting high speed subjects but shooting at high frame rates gets you some real nice captures. The lens itself makes great images and is a pleasure to use with a monopod.
I bought this lens knowing that there might eventually be a SDM failure and so far I've not had a failure. So for now I'll give the lens a 9.8 and I'll put a little away for a repair if it ever fails. |
