While saving money for a DFA* 70-200 F2.8 in the near future, I'm using this Pentax-F 70-210 lens on my K1 as a temporary low cost solution.
It serves as a kind of 'filling the gap lens' for my beloved FF prime lenses (FA 50 1.4 and FA* 200 2.8).
For a Pentax-F lens produced in the 35mm film era about 25-30 years ago, the image quality is very decent.
Considering the price ($30) I paid for it, I'm more than happy with it.
Here are examples taken a while back with my K5:
Taken at 135mm, F8.

Taken at 210mm, F10.

Taken at 210mm, F10. Bokeh is quite nice too.

For me, the main thing I don't like about this lens is its rotating front element (while focusing) which make the use of a CP filter impossible.
I bought this lens as part of 3 lenses listed below, paid €110 for the lot, worth every cent to me!
SMC Pentax-K 85mm F1.8
SMC Pentax-F 24-50mm F4
SMC Pentax-F 70-210mm F4-5.6
Therefore, the estimated price of $30 for the Pentax-F 70-210mm.
($40 for the Pentax-F 24-50mm and $50 for the Pentax-K 85mm)

As usual with Takumar lenses, the build quality of this lens is excellent.
I have the second version Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 200mm F4, paid €30 (approx $32) for it.
Mounted this lens on my Fujifilm X-E1, the focus peaking feature of this camera makes the use of manual lens like this very easy.

Since I also own a FA* 200 F2.8, I have a good reference for comparison. The image quality of the Takumar is very good but it can't reach the level of a FA* lens. (Obviously it's not fair to compare lenses from totally different leagues like this).
In good day (sun)light, the Takumar delivers very good results with the well-known beautiful colors rendition.
Nowadays, with the good low light behavior (high ISO behavior) of DSLR and mirrorless camera, shooting in low light situations with relative slow lens (F4) like this Takumar is no longer a real issue.
On my X-E1, I can shoot at ISO range 500-1000 while keep the shutter speed at 1/250 sec (or faster) without compromising (much) on IQ.
Attached image is shot at ISO-800, F/8 and 1/400 sec.

The SMC Pentax-K 28mm F3.5 is not so well-known comparing to its cousins Pentax 28mm from the M and A series but the performance is really impressive. I have been using a handful of semi-wide angle Pentax-A (and M) 24mm - 28mm lenses over the years. The performances of these lenses are quite good (don't get me wrong) but never reach the level of this K 28mm F3.5.
Don't let the F3.5 fools you. Color rendering and contrast are spot on (strong) even wide open.
Bokeh is of course not its strongest but that is normal for a 28mm wide angle lens.
Photo is exported from LR as Adobe Standard (instead of Velvia/Vivid as shot by Fujifilm X-E1) to keep the colors as neutral as possible. No other changes made!
Photo taken with Fujifilm X-E1 with metal lens hood. ISO-200, F/3.5, 1/250s and handheld.
I got this lens as part of a Pentax KX 35mm film camera with Pentax K 55mm F1.8 and paid € 75 for the lot, hence the estimated price $30.

I collected this lens as a temporary low cost solution for the K-1.
This lens is part of a purchase consists of 3 lenses which cost me €110.
SMC Pentax 85mm (F1.8 K mount)
SMC Pentax-F 24-50mm F4
SMC Pentax-F 70-210mm F4-5.6
Therefore, the estimated price $40 (approx 1/3 of € 110). The relative low cost is also taken into account for the overall rating 10.
It's not a high-end lens for sure, but I'm happy to have it as a temporary low cost solution fo my Pentax K-1, while saving for a good modern lens at a later stage.
A lot is already said about the IQ of this lens by other reviewers.
Attached are some photo's taken with this lens on both Fujifilm X-E1 and Pentax K-5.
