I was impressed by this lens. I like everything in this lens: how it feels, how smooth focusing is, how easily you can open-close aperture, I like cleanliness of colors and contrast. Everything is just right.
Even purple fringe (that can be fixed in photoshop) does not disappoint.
The most I like in this lens is, that it is used as a tilt shift, with an adapter of course.
Some shots with and w/o the tilt shift, all are wide open.

Today I got this lens.
I did not mention the price of the lens because I bought it together with Super Takumar 28mm F/3.5 for $125 US.
It was love from the first sight. :)
Filter element issues described above?
I did not face with such issue. The element is not so easy to rotate, but if you even rotate it you see which element is there. There are 3 filters UV, Yellow and Orange 56.
This lens allows you to shoot even between the filters in this case it works as some sort of a circular polarizer, you can easily darken either top or bottom of the picture.
Definitely this lens is not for close shooting, it's hard to focus...tried a couple of shots wide open - did not like what I had got.
Here it is a couple of pictures:
B/W PPed
Sorry for the dust:
This shot was taken in between the filters (from orange to UV, I believe)
Wide open:

I am just wondering how come this lens has such a low score.
It deserves much higher one.
I just love it.
Great colors, perfect sharpness even wide open, pleasure to handle and work with.
It works great as for portraits and a street fotography.
Well, it is not F/1.4 or 1.7, so what?
Yes, it is plastic, then so what, will your metal one survives if you drop it?
It is very light in terms of its weight.
I am glad I bought it for $30 with Pentax SF1N.
If you see it, do not miss it.

Just bought the lens with M42 adapter to it, from ebay. I read a lot of positive reviews about the lens and was so anxious to try it. Well, I did it. Was impressed by quality of the shots. Agree that it is a little bit soft at wide open aperture. I used it on K20D.
The issue which I faced with and am trying to resolve: the lens is not focusing at infinity.
What I found in the internet so far, was that I have the wrong adapter. So, I am buying a new one, not a big deal at all, but takes some time.
Decided to mention that for the folks who are looking for the lens - be aware about the issue. If you purchase the lens with an adapter, spend some time to find out if it allows to focus at infinity. The key is that the back side of the lens must be at the camera body level when it sits on it.
Was impressed by built quality of the lens.
