I've bought both, die bellow edition and the abowe shown lens 4/100.:) ++ really excellent sharpness at f 8-11 ++ nice colors ++ high contrast +/++ nearly no CA's ***** IMPORTANT TIP ***** If using an achromatic focal reducer with factor 0.7x, sharpness will increase once more a simple 2/1 achromate top lens of a binocular 8x30 must be fitted into a K-macro tube/ring - try it = 2.8/70mm will be the result with extraordinary sharpness !!! :):):)

with bellows and achromatic focal reducer (self made by a single binocular front lens 8x30 fitted into a PK macro ring) will give excellent sharpness at f 8-11 and minimization of CA's !:lol::lol: ++/+ excellent sharpness up to magnification 1:2, very good/exc. 1:1, good/very good 2:1 at f 8- 11  ***** no reduction of corner sharpness as usual by modern AF lenses ***** ++ neutral color rendition ++ high contrast, if bellow has been anti-reflex-fitted with dark clothing, in order to reduce flare, totally ++ very few CA's - with achromatic focal reducer no CA's visible ++ no vignetation 9.5 points totally  highly recommended !

Impossible extremely bad judgements for this nice lens !!! Why for ??? Is there big difference between the kinds of production or issues ??? Incomprehensible !!! O Indeed 28 is week in the corners - 6 points only, stopped down ti f 8-11, too - and visible CA's !!! (most wide angle zoom lenses have problems with sharpness and CA's in the corners 18-55, too !!!) + sharpness below and beneeth - 8 points, scarevcely CA's ++ center sharpness is excellent at 28mm - 10 points - no CA's + at 50 mm good corner sharpness - 8 points ++ excellent center sharpness with 80mm - 10 points ++ excellent corner sharpness at 80 mm - 10 points ++ close-ups excellent sharpness - 10 points Big difference between shooting with k-x and k-s1. K-s1 much more better !!! My cameras are fitted to highest sharpness + 4, highest contrast + 4 Beside the weekness in the corners an excellent lens. Fit you Pentax DSLC at highest sharpness, contrast and color saturation and youl get nice photos with tis lens 9 points totally :lol::lol:

Due to the very good optical construction of 4 (!) achromatic lenses and 2 ED-lenses is the optical quality of this les very nice / fine. suitable for macro shootings with macro ring wit AF-function and all A-contacts, too. The brand is "Micnova (R) 25mm EXTENSION TUBE. I take photos with aperture 8-11, so bokeh and sharpness are nice - CA's reduced and scarecely visible:) this lens is still better than the excellent 4.7-5.8/100-300 and the very nice 4.7-5.6/80-200 ++ colors, sharpness, contrast and bokeh + CA's O AF for the low price full recommendation !!! :):):)

the difference between this lens and the Tokina 35-105 MF is enormous: Tokina shows so much CA's, but this PENTAX lens only few ones. disappearing, when stopping down to f8-f11 Sharpness is nearly excellent in this aperture range from wide-angle to small tele (105) So taking pictures in this way, you'll get fine, nice and really very sharp pictures.:) This lens could be arranged into the white (professional) production line:fedup: with a small (!!!) macro ring suitable for butterfly pictures - stopped down to f11.16 One of my favorites in this focus range:lol:

very similar to the TAMRON lens:) a sharp lens for much fun for APS-C what about disadvantages: only some CA's in the corner at wide angle and wide open some flare, unfortunately. stopped down to f8-11 - as usually - this lens makes no problems for photo shootings:. good contrast, nice colors (a few warm).but wide open not really sharp my recommendation for 18x24mm-sensor (8 points:fedup:), but stopped down as mentioned. ps. lower sharpness in the corners when using full frame (analogue or digital) - only 7 points:o, Pentax 35-105 seems to be better for K1 (or 2.8/28-70 will be best solution)

:)this 6/5 lens construction is very similar to the old 1,8/55 Takumar. an excellent lens, fitted for 1,7 AF-converter, too opitimal lens for portraits, close-ups etc. Compared with the actual lenses of other brands at this low price a very fine lens: its value is very high. use it for astro-shootings, too. f4-5,6 without optical defaults. very much joy with this lens

what a extremely sharp leight weight lens, ok ok plastic housing (I'm not friend of this), but optical qualities from the finest.:):):) tested it with close-up (flowers) and overview of our village. excellent sharpnes still at f4.5. color saturation very high, contrast excellent, very nice bokeh, too, very sharp up to the corners. Kit lens is still very good. but the single wide angle lens is the best; I ever had. My Takumar 3.5/35 was very fine, my Pentax 2,8/28 wonderfull, but this lens is perfect. very highly recommended - for this low price. ps. A famous German Photo Newspaper gave approximately half of possible points to it - what a foolish faked test!:o,inspite a few stopped down, the Pentax 2,4/35 is sharper in the corners than its competitors of other brands. English tests are much more objective. In Germany the great brands are often favorised, unfortunately.

if I had trusted in a (sponsored?)German test newspaper, I hadn't bought this lens. Half or 2/3 points only for this lens in comparison with the competitors? - Oohh:o I've got earlier 1,8, some 2.0 and 1,4 and I've been satisfied with them. Between f 4-5,6 best results. Today I've received this new lens. Naturally, none of all produced lenses are not extremely sharp fully open. f1,8-2 sharp enough 2,8 very, very sharp - very nice bokeh 4-5,6 extremely sharp - what a lens! :D:):):) no CA's until now. Hard test now:f2.8 and 1/1500 sec. with ISO100:sunset against trees. strong CA's feared. In the center really nearly nothing, but in the corners visible. Now f 6,7 1/250 sec for this extreme situation: nothing more. CA's disappeared. Full 10 points (perhaps some fluorite glass therein?) I'll try with f2,8 for stars... ps.a famous German test Newspaper gave very low test result for it.incredible! Fortunately, the English www allows much more objective tests.

this water resistant kit lens must be stopped down to f8-11, in order to get best sharpness. with K5 and k-x you can eleminate CR's when activating this in program:) with k200 few CA's wide open especially 18mm wide angle.no AF problems with it.

my Pentax DSLR are fitted to highest contrast, sharpness and color transmission. k200 doesn't allow to eleminate the CA's, but newer brands as k-x do it by changing program of this item in menue. So CA's disappaer totally.* this lens is much more better than the first edition DAL I with interior life of 12/9. when stopping down to 8-11;my pictures are really very sharp. It is curious, but the old version has wide open on 24-35mm best results. (18mm were somewhat terrible in corners) But this newer version is sharp over the full focus range. with achromatice macro lens phantastic clöse up shootings possible really a precious lens at a low price

I'am very content with this lens. 300mm with f8-11 are excellent sharp, much more better than sigma or tamron lenses with similar start aperture. For macro shootings I've another favorite.:)but with achromatic focal reductor the sharpness of 300mm tele shootings are really sharp. not so good for converter using neither on the top, nor on the back side of this lens.:o
