The 18-135 is a great general purpose lens. It is ideal for beginners and enthusiasts as well IMO. When I am not sure exactly which lens to take, I generally pick this lens. It is wide enough to get good street shots, and just long enough to get that tele shot you might have missed with a shorter lens. It is not " macro " but it can focus quite close to give some impressive nature photographs of insects and flowers etc. The WR is a bonus with this lens if shooting close to moving water on in the snow. The autofocus is very reliable and trustworthy on my copy. It is a very good companion for the K-3. I can highly recommend this little gem of a lens

This is a very high quality lens. The AF has been faultless on my K-3, and the image quality is superb. It is reasonably heavy, but quite hand holdable for long periods for me. Being only f4 has not been an issue for me with the type of photography that I enjoy doing. The " All Weather " sealing makes this lens very safe and pleasing to use in all conditions.. When combined with the Pentax HD DA 1.4x AW rear converter, this lens becomes even more versatile. I can highly recommend the DA* 60-250 as a wonderful addition to your photographic equipment. https://www.pentaxforums.com/gallery/images/81949/large/1_IMGP0686__849x1280_.jpg

This is a great piece of gear. Being weather sealed itself, means the integrity of both camera and lens is maintained. If used with quality glass, this converter will not disappoint. Image degradation is minimal and really only noticed if " peeping." I predominantly use it with my 100mm 2.8 macro WR and my DA* 60-250 and have found the images with the converter are of a better quality than cropping a standard image to the same size. Being able to use both screw drive and motor driven AF is an added bonus. EXIF data is changed to include the converter with Pentax lenses as well. If shooting JPEG, the lens correction features are disabled while the converter is attached. The cameras firmware will need to be updated to use it also. The price of this accessory is not that high if you consider its quality and versatility. This small piece of kit changes the lenses it is attached to for the better IMO. There are only a few lenses that cannot be used in conjunction with this converter, so checking the compatibility list is essential to avoid damaging either the lens or converter. I can highly recommend the HD Pentax-DA 1.4x AW AF Rear Converter. It is compatible with the new HD PENTAX-DA 55-300mmF4.5-6.3ED PLM WR KAF4 lens, but not recommended. This lens is a little gem. It started its life as the kit lens on the K20D, but has proved itself to be a very versatile piece of glass. It is a very sharp lens that renders colors beautifully IMO. For landscape and street photography it is excellent. The only shortcoming of this lens is the lack of weather sealing. Everything else is above average. I can highly recommend this lens.

I find the DA* 16-50 to be a fantastic lens ( now ). When I first got this lens I thought that I had got a " bad " copy. The only thing that was " bad " was my technique in using it. Very fast lenses and lots of megapixels highlight flaws in hand held camera technique very quickly. I found some of my images were tack sharp and others with some blur. It would have been too easy to blame the lens. Once I got my head around the large drop in depth of field from 50mm to 16mm at f2.8 from the same shooting distance, my keeper rate of photographs improved. Practicing good shutter release technique improved my keeper rate more again. The SDM problems that this lens has had in the past was not a deterrent for me getting it. If my SDM stops working, I will get it repaired. The fear of it breaking down did not prevent me from getting it. I would have missed out on some valuable to me photographs if I had l had let the prospect of SDM failure cloud my thoughts. All the DA* lenses are quality items. I can highly recommend the 16-50. https://www.pentaxforums.com/gallery/images/81949/large/1_IMGP1605__1280x852_.jpg

This lens is so much better than its price suggests it should be. Very sharp. A little noisy regarding the screw drive AF, but not annoyingly so. On my K-3, it renders colors beautifully, and can be used in very low light conditions very well. The plastic mount is of no importance to me as the lens is so light that it puts no strain on the mount whatsoever. Having no quick shift focus is probably my only real negative regarding this lens, but for all the other positive attributes this lens has, that is only a minor concern. I can highly recommend this lens.

This lens is a joy to use. The images obtained with it are outstanding even at f2.8. If macro photography is your preferred choice then this lens will not disappoint. Its sharpness, color rendition and bokeh are faultless IMO. If using AF, this lens can hunt, but this can be minimized by getting close to focus manually and then letting the AF take over. The build quality is excellent. It looks, feels and performs like a professional lens. It also teams beautifully with the 1.4X rear converter. I can highly recommend it. https://www.pentaxforums.com/gallery/images/81949/large/1_IMGP0877.JPG
