Flare Resistance
When you are shooting scenes in which intense light sources can enter the frame, one thing you might be worried about is flare resistance: will your lens produce rainbow-colored light reflections all over the image?

Please note all images have been post-processed with increased contrast and saturation settings to make any flare more visible (and you can see the dust spots on the sensor).
Only in the first image with the sun in the center do we see one very mild reddish sun-flare.
This is a very good result and in real life shooting, the new HD coating effectively suppresses any meaningful flare.
Verdict: 5/5
