Using the timer to capture the splash
I also set the in-camera three second timer so I could easily pour the martini splash as the camera took the photo for me after I pressed the button. I like the three second timer because I can press the button, and then count, "1-2-3" and pour on three. It works for me, but there are of course, many other ways to trigger your camera if you don't like this method.
