Peak Design Slide Strap and Capture Clip System
Camera straps are one of the most ubiquitous parts of photography. The strap is one of the few elements that is still provided with a camera nowadays. Many people never look beyond the strap included with their cameras. For others, the search for the perfect strap is a never-ending journey.
There are countless options when looking for a replacement strap. The most basic neck strap can come with materials as diverse as leather, neoprene, cotton, nylon, silk. Straps also come in varying shapes: neck, shoulder, sling, wrist straps, attachments to bags and backpacks, and so forth. Some companies, like Op/Tech, use modularity as a differentiating feature. Others, like PacSafe, offer increased security against theft. With so many options, it can be hard to make a choice.
While we cannot pretend to cover every product available, a few brands are recommended time and again in our Accessories forum when people look for strap recommendations. Today, we take a look at one of those products, the Slide Strap from Peak Design. This strap is meant to be used in conjunction with the Capture Clip which we alluded to in our review of the Everyday Sling bag. This article will thus also present the Capture Pro Clip, how it integrates with the Slide strap, and how well this system functions with a Pentax K-1 camera and heavier lenses.
