Pentax-DA 15mm F4 Limited Review

Introduction

Welcome to the PentaxForums.com review of the SMC Pentax 15mm F4 ED AL Limited lens.  The Pentax 15mm lens is one of the 5 Pentax "Limited" pancakes, which are known for their small size, all-metal construction, and exceptional image quality. This particular lens is one of our members' favorites, and it has a dedicated lens club thread on our Pentax forum that has over 4000 posts and thousands of sample photos.

This is not the first time we have tested this lens, as we had it on loan back in 2010, but this was before we started posting in-depth reviews on our homepage.  Even then we noticed that this lens controlled aberrations much better than our Pentax 12-24mm zoom or legacy 15mm primes, and that it delivered clear, sharp images.  Thus, our expectations going into this review were rather high, and we're happy to say that this lens did not disappoint!  We are even going to go as far as saying that this is a must-have lens for wide-angle shooters!
