Pentax-DA 560mm F5.6 ED AW

Chromatic Aberration

The DA 560mm lens exhibits some chromatic aberration (CA) in scenarios with extreme contrast. This first example shows a fringe along the overexposed wall at the left edge of the image. The second image shows less CA due to the lower contrast and here the CA is hardly visible:

Verdict on Chromatic Aberration

This lens exhibits more CA than we would expected of a modern prime lens. According to additional tests that we performned, the amount of fringing is about the same as that of the F* 250-600mm F5.6 zoom, but much less than that of the 40-year-old K 500mm F4.5. The CA shows up in high-contrast, back-lit scenes. PentaxForums @PentaxForums News | Reviews | Forum
