What's in the Box

You will find the expected contents in the box:

• The lens
• Metal front cap
• Metal lens hood (mounted on lens)
• Plastic rear cap
• Lens pouch*
• Lens manual (not pictured)
• Serial number card and/or warranty information, depending on region (not pictured)

*During the first several years of production the silver lenses came with a red/brown leather lens pouch and black lenses came with a black pouch (faux leather). Now all lenses come with the black pouch.

Warranty Coverage

The Pentax manufacturer's warranty varies from region to region. The warranty information is not necessarily included in the box.  In the US and Australia, the warranty period is one year from the date of purchase.  In Canada and Europe, customers enjoy a 2-year warranty.  Generally-speaking, proof of purchase from an authorized dealer is required to be eligible for warranty coverage.

In the US, no product registration is required.  You must simply present the original sales receipt to receive warranty service.
