Pentax K-1 Review
What's in the Box
The Pentax K-1 body kit comes with a standard set of accessories: the battery and charger, neck strap, body cap, software CD, manual, and a number of minor items mounted on the camera itself. These items hide a few pleasant surprises, however!
The K II body cap is a newly-developed "premium" cap for the K-1. Rather than being a simple push-on type like caps included with other Pentax DSLRs, it uses the bayonet mount to click securely into place. It is also thicker and more rigid. Unlike film-era bayonet caps, the K II does not apply any wear the lens mount contacts when turned.
Another improvement is the O-ST162 neck strap, which is about a centimeter wider and thus more comfortable than straps for Pentax APS-C bodies.
Existing Pentax users will be happy to know that the K-1 shares the D-Li 90 battery with a host of other high-end Pentax models, including the K-3, K-5, K-7, K-01, 645Z, and 645D.

The box itself is nothing fancy; it's rather compact and it shares the "Ricoh K" styling with other recent camera and lens boxes. See below for a full list of included accessories.

Warranty
Ricoh Imaging's warranty coverage depends on the country in which you purchase the K-1.
- In the US, the standard warranty is good for one year.
- In Canada and Europe, two years of coverage are included.
- In Australia, the warranty is good for one year, like in the US.
Please check with your local Pentax dealer or Ricoh Imaging representative for warranty information in other areas. Some regions offer extended warranties. We have confirmed that this extended warranty is valid for the K-1 in the US.
If you require service outside of the country from which you purchased the K-1, Pentax service centers will honor the warranty through its original duration. A fixed nominal fee is generally charged for such repairs (i.e. $50).
To be eligible for warranty, cameras must be purchased from an authorized Pentax dealer.
