Pentax 17-70mm Lens Comparison
Pentax 17-70: Overview
The SMC Pentax-DA 17-70mm F4 AL [IF] SDM (that’s a mouthful) is a somewhat recent addition to the Pentax lineup. It was one of the first lenses to feature only SDM focusing. The lens more or less replaced the older DA 16-45mm in the Pentax lineup, though the latter is still available, albeit at a much lower price. The Pentax 17-70mm is intended as a versatile lens with mid-range features, such as a constant aperture, silent focus and, as with all DA lenses, a good build quality.
